Chalet De Sintra

Nestled in the historic landscape of Sintra, along the path to the Palácio da Pena, this 19th-century chalet stands as one of the most demanding yet rewarding challenges our atelier has undertaken. Its restoration required meticulous craftsmanship, honoring the essence of the original architecture while seamlessly integrating contemporary solutions to elevate comfort and functionality.

Every detail of this project was thoughtfully designed and executed. The selection of natural stone for the bathrooms followed a precise process of design and assembly, with each piece custom-crafted to achieve a seamless and harmonious composition.

In bespoke furniture design, our atelier developed exclusive, tailor-made pieces specifically for this project. From headboards, bedside tables, wardrobes, and bookshelves to dining tables and accent pieces, every element was crafted in Portugal — preserving the artisanal excellence and technical precision that define our work.

One of the most distinctive aspects of this restoration was our collaboration with the Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva, where each brass handle was handcrafted using traditional techniques, reviving the artistry of Portuguese metalwork and adding an authentic touch to the project.

Beyond architecture and design, this project also featured a significant artistic intervention, with bespoke mural paintings by renowned artist Bela Silva. These striking artworks, created for the entrance and dining room, established a profound connection between art and space, reinforcing the uniqueness of the project. This collaboration was further enriched by a partnership with Galeria Rui Freire - Fine Art, reinforcing our atelier’s commitment to integrating art as an essential part of its design philosophy.

Working alongside the architecture firm Luís Paiva Raposo, our team at RV Atelier relentlessly pursued excellence, ensuring that every element contributed to a sublime outcome, where tradition and innovation exist in perfect harmony.
